International Day of the Girl Child 2024
On October 6, 2024, Ek Jeevan Hamari Prerana hosted an epic event at Children’s Park, India Gate, to celebrate International Day of the Girl (IDG) 2024! With support from AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF), the event was a vibrant platform for girls to thrive, lead, and shine! The two-hour extravaganza was packed with engaging activities, including a thought-provoking awareness session on mental health, which sparked some real convos.
The crowd was lit with 130 girls and young women from marginalized groups, caretakers, parents, and volunteers! Notable faces included the Ministry of Defence team, Mitramela NGO reps, the Parikrama rock band, and Children’s Park officials. Chief Guest Smt. Swati Khanna, a total baddie for Women Empowerment, dropped some truth bombs about mental health during adolescence.
But the swag was real – every girl walked away with a sick sling bag filled with goodies like notebooks, pens, and sanitary napkins. And, let’s not forget the friendship wristbands made by the girl leaders themselves, spreading love and support! Parikrama, Asia’s iconic rock band, and a fire DJ lit up the stage!
This event was all about empowering girls and young women, especially those from marginalized communities. By providing a platform for education, awareness, and celebration, they’re inspiring the next gen of women leaders to own their health, rights, and potential!
