In 2023, we started our life skill education program for children, beginning with just 10 participants. To create a warm and welcoming environment, we started by celebrating their birthdays and giving small gifts, which helped build trust and excitement among the children. These simple gestures made them feel valued and created a sense of belonging, encouraging them to attend regularly.

As their interest grew, we introduced small life skill sessions after their school hours. These sessions focused on essential skills like communication, problem-solving, hygiene, and emotional well-being, helping children develop confidence and practical knowledge for everyday life. The sessions were designed to be interactive and engaging, using activities, stories, and games to make learning fun and impactful.

Initially, these sessions were held in Jahangirpuri, but as word spread and more children wanted to join, we expanded to other areas, including Bharat Nagar, Azadpur, and Burari. This expansion allowed us to reach more children from different communities, creating a broader impact and fostering a sense of unity among diverse groups.

To ensure quality and consistency, we use structured modules developed by UNICEF and Buds of Christ, which cover a wide range of life skills tailored to children’s needs. These modules provide a solid framework, helping us deliver content that is both relevant and effective in shaping children’s personal and social development.

As the number of children increased, we organized them into groups based on their age, ensuring that each session was age-appropriate and addressed the specific challenges and learning needs of different age groups. This approach has helped us create a more personalized and meaningful learning experience, allowing every child to grow at their own pace while feeling supported and understood.
