Trainings in the slum areas have been a game-changer for these women. We started with basics like book making, sewing, and tote bags – simple stuff that’d help them earn a living. But, it wasn’t easy at first. Most of them weren’t educated, so measurements were a big hurdle. We had to distribute molds for each product, for each woman.
As numbers grew, it got crazy making so many molds. That’s when we decided to enroll them in literacy classes! Now they can make products with ease, taking measurements and all. It’s been a beautiful transformation, seeing them grow from struggling to confidently creating with precision.
They’re not just learning a skill; they’re gaining independence. And that’s what’s driving us to do more.
