The Girls ACT Kanya Kranti Chapter marked a significant milestone with a democratic election on July 13, 2025, to form a board of leaders. A pre-election training was conducted to empower girls with a deep understanding of the electoral process and criteria for candidates. A comprehensive set of 20 criteria were selected, and the training provided a detailed understanding of each, preparing girls for the electoral process.

The election saw 18 girls self-nominated for the 11 board positions, showcasing their confidence and eagerness to assume leadership roles. The elected board includes 3 designated positions: President, Vice-President, and Secretary, who will spearhead the Girls Act activities towards growth and success. These young leaders are poised to make a meaningful impact and drive positive changes.

To ensure the success and sustainability of the Girls Act program, the Board Members underwent comprehensive training across various critical areas. The training covered essential topics, including leadership roles, governance structure, decision-making processes, financial literacy, and program planning. They also received training on monitoring and evaluation, conflict resolution, negotiation skills, transparency, and sustainability planning.

Equipped with these skills and knowledge, the Board Members are well-prepared to effectively manage and steer the program forward. They’re committed to promoting girls’ empowerment, education, and leadership, and their enthusiasm is contagious. With this strong foundation, the Girls Act Kanya Kranti Chapter is set to make a lasting impact and inspire young girls to become leaders of tomorrow.
