During our skill development trainings, we placed a special focus on the importance of literacy for women. We realized that without basic reading and writing skills, many participants struggled to fully engage with the program and understand technical instructions. This gap limited their ability to grasp product specifications and hindered their overall learning experience.

One of the key challenges we faced was helping these women understand the sizes and specifications of products, which required creating molds for each item. To bridge this gap, we initiated literacy classes alongside the technical training. These classes were designed to be practical and directly relevant to their work, making learning both meaningful and immediately applicable.

The results have been remarkable. Women who were previously completely uneducated have now learned to read and write in Hindi, giving them confidence and independence in daily life. Those who already knew Hindi have progressed to a basic level of English, while others with some knowledge of Hindi and English have even learned how to handle mobile phones. This digital literacy has opened up new opportunities for communication, access to information, and participation in the digital economy.

Alongside literacy, we also introduced financial literacy, teaching them the importance of holding a bank account and how to manage it effectively. This knowledge empowers them to save, plan for the future, and make informed financial decisions, ultimately helping them achieve greater economic independence and stability. By combining skill development with literacy and financial education, we are helping these women build a foundation for long-term empowerment and success.
